The second concert of the YMSO’s 2018/19 season begins with the Overture to The Force of Destiny by Verdi, an opera centered around fate and superstition, followed by the iconic Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 with the rising star Rustam Khanmurzin. Concluding the concert is Mahler’s ‘Titan’ Symphony No. 1.

Now in its 48th year, The Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1971 as a training organisation to bridge the gap between college life and the profession for orchestral musicians aged 18-25. YMSO’s mission is to equip musicians with the tools required by their future employers, providing a platform for them to maintain and develop their skills. Our players come from all over the UK.
